BUSCADORES DE VISIÓN

2014, Ibiza

Serie de retratos realizados a personas participantes en la primera Búsqueda de Visión del Fuego Sagrado de Itzachilatlan, liderada por María Valdivia. Durante cuatro días permanecieron aisladas en la montaña, sin comida ni bebida, llevando únicamente lo necesario para protegerse del frío y descansar.

Las imágenes se realizaron justo antes y después de ese periodo de aislamiento individual, manteniendo las mismas condiciones de encuadre, fondo e iluminación. La serie se construye a partir de la repetición del dispositivo y de la distancia temporal entre ambos momentos, situándose en ese intervalo: el tiempo transcurrido y lo que queda inscrito en el cuerpo.

Series of portraits made of participants in the first Vision Quest of Fuego Sagrado de Itzachilatlan, led by María Valdivia.For four days they remained isolated in the mountain, without food or drink, carrying only what was necessary for warmth and rest.

The images were taken immediately before and after this period of individual isolation, maintaining the same framing, background and lighting conditions. The series is constructed through the repetition of the device and the temporal distance between these two moments, positioning itself in that interval: the time elapsed and what remains inscribed in the body.
